Guy near Port Hueneme Pier called me from his apartment complex. He had a 2019 Ford Edge and his only remaining smart key had stopped working that morning. No backup. Before I packed up, I walked him through the lock and showed him the wafer stack so he could see why a hardware store copy would never turn. He kept looking at the fob like he expected it to stop working again.
It didn't. He kept his car in the lot, saved a good chunk over the dealer quote, and never had to arrange a tow.
