2017 Ford Edge Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Out near Sandyland Cove, I got a call from a guy who said his 2017 Edge had been sitting in his driveway for two days. The fob just stopped working. He'd tried the lock button, the unlock button, everything. The car wouldn't respond at all from outside, and he wasn't sure if he could even get in.
I asked if he'd tried the insert key. Long pause. He had no idea there was one.
When I pulled up, he was waiting by the car. I showed him how to slide the hidden blade out of the fob housing. He used it to get into the driver's door himself, and you could see the small satisfaction of that. Then I pulled out a fresh CR2450, swapped it in, and the fob came right back. Range, lock, unlock, all of it. Battery had just given up with no warning, the way these sometimes do.
He told me he'd already looked up the dealer process out of curiosity. Appointment, wait time, the whole thing. He was glad it didn't come to that. I was in and out of his driveway in under twenty minutes. The fix was a battery and knowing where to find the blade. Nothing more.
