His Edge was the 80-bit PATS setup, proximity entry and push-button start, running through the RFA module. I connected the Smart Pro to the OBD-II port and ran the Ford proximity key procedure. The M3N5WY8609 fob programmed clean. Cut the emergency insert blade on the HU101 keyway, dropped in a fresh CR2032, and started testing.
Walk-up proximity unlock on the driver handle. Passenger handle. Liftgate button. Push-button start with the fob in my pocket, then on the dash, then in the center console. Lock button on the handle. All five fob buttons. Every function came back green.
He was buckling his kid into the car seat about twenty minutes after I got there. Monday call, Monday fix, and he kept his whole week intact for a fraction of what the dealer wanted.
