2013 Ford Mustang
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2013 Ford Mustang Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I got a call from a guy over by Pierpont Beach on a Saturday afternoon.

He had walked down to the water, left his keys in his shorts pocket, and somewhere between the shoreline and the parking lot, his only key to the 2013 Mustang was gone. He spent a solid hour retracing the sand, checked with the lifeguard post, and came up empty. The car was sitting in the lot and he was already pricing tows.

He called me expecting to wait until Monday for a dealer appointment. I told him I could be there the same afternoon.

When I pulled up, the car was locked, no key, no spare anywhere. I started by picking the door and decoding the blade cut from the lock, then cut a fresh blade to match. From there I connected through the OBD port, cleared the immobilizer of every previously registered key, and enrolled two new remote head keys. First crank, car started clean. Second key got the same treatment so he had a spare before I packed up.

The whole job was done in the parking lot, under an hour, no tow, no Monday wait, no dealer line item surprises. He drove home from Pierpont with two working keys and a lot less stress than he had an hour before.
