2019 Ford Mustang
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

Q: How do I know you are not a scam locksmith?

It's a fair thing to ask. Scam locksmiths are a known problem, especially for owners of higher-profile vehicles searching in a hurry. The pattern is always the same: low number quoted over the phone, no marked vehicle, price triples once they're on site, no traceable business behind them. EZ Car Keyz has over 100,000 followers across YouTube and TikTok where you can watch us do exactly this kind of work before you ever call.

Q: Will the replacement key work exactly like the original?

Yes. We use fobs that are correct for the 2019 Mustang's key system, not generic aftermarket units sold in bulk online. There's a real difference. Cheaper fobs sourced from marketplaces sometimes handle door functions but fail on the start side because the internal components don't meet the vehicle's security requirements. We test every function before we leave: lock, unlock, and all remaining buttons, plus confirming the push-button start is responding to the fob the way it should.

Q: I have one working key. Can you add a second without losing the first?

Yes, and this is actually the better scenario. When you still have a working key, adding a second is cleaner and faster than an all-keys-lost job. We connect through the OBD port, add the new fob to the vehicle's security system alongside your existing one, and both work when we're done. Your original key doesn't get wiped or replaced.

Q: My Mustang's push-button start is reading the fob intermittently. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it just sits there. What's going on?

Intermittent read issues on the 2019 Mustang are usually one of three things: a battery that's borderline but not fully dead yet, a contact problem inside the fob, or interference in the area around the start button. Try the fob-to-button backup start first. If the car fires up when you hold the fob directly against the button, your fob is communicating but weakly. That points to the battery or the fob itself.

2019 Ford Mustang Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I got the call around 6:45 in the morning. Construction worker over in The Avenue neighborhood of Ventura, job site already buzzing, foreman on site. His 2019 Mustang wouldn't wake up. Push the button, nothing. The fob had apparently been going flaky for a few days and he'd been ignoring it. That morning it finally quit.

He didn't have time for a tow or a dealer appointment. He had about fifteen minutes before being late mattered.

I keep the van loaded and ready to roll early. I was pulling up to him inside of thirty minutes. First thing I checked was the fob itself. CR2450, the correct size, but the one inside was reading low and the contact had a slight lift from a previous battery swap. Seated a fresh cell, verified the contact was making clean contact, and tried the start button.

Car woke right up.

That was the fix. No programming needed that morning, just a battery done right. I still ran a quick check on all five buttons and walked the door handles to make sure the touch-unlock was responding before I packed up. Everything solid.

He clocked in late, but not by much. Said he'd been quoted a same-day dealer appointment for a fraction of his workday and a number that made him wince. What he paid me was way less, and I came to him.

The spare CR2450 I left in his glovebox is probably still there.

Are you licensed and insured to work on Ford vehicles?▼

Yes. EZ Car Keyz is a California BSIS licensed locksmith company, fully insured, and credentialed to access manufacturer security data for Ford and other makes. That matters on a 2019 Mustang because adding or replacing a smart key isn't a guess-and-check job. It requires the right diagnostic access and the right equipment.
