2011 Jeep Cherokee Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call on a Thursday morning from a paralegal stuck in a courthouse parking garage in Camarillo. Depositions back to back, no way to leave, and her 2011 Jeep Cherokee fob housing had cracked through. The key blade was barely hanging on. She couldn't tow it mid-week, couldn't leave it, and couldn't wait for the weekend hoping it would hold together.
She'd already called the dealer. Appointment days out, Jeep would need to stay, and the cost was going to be significant on top of whatever towing ran her.
I drove out to the garage during her lunch recess. Decoded the door lock to verify the blade cuts, built out a replacement fob with a fresh housing and a new CR2032, then programmed it through the OBD port. All six buttons came up on the first test cycle. Lock, unlock, the whole fob.
She walked back into her afternoon session with a solid key on her lanyard. Her Cherokee never left its parking spot. That's the whole job.
The dealer comparison was her idea to bring up, not mine. She just said she saved a good chunk and didn't lose half a day. I left it at that.
