2023 Jeep Cherokee
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2023 Jeep Cherokee Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Over in Mar Vista, a retiree was spending his morning at a self-storage yard off Oxnard's industrial corridor, trying to get his move wrapped up before the facility locked its gates at 6 p.m. His 2023 Jeep Cherokee was the only vehicle he had, and his smart key had gone missing somewhere inside the unit, buried under the last wave of boxes he'd loaded.

He wasn't going to find it without unpacking everything he'd just stacked. His moving help was booked until noon. He called me instead.

I got there within the hour. The Cherokee uses a proximity smart key system, and on a 2023 that means the new key gets enrolled through the OBD port with the right tools communicating with the body control module. No shortcut, no ignition trick. I decoded his door lock to cut the blade, programmed the replacement fob on site, and walked every function before I left. Lock, unlock, proximity entry at the door handles, the start button. All of it.

He was back to moving before his help even showed up. He asked me what happens if the lost key turns up in a box somewhere. I told him to call me and we can decide then whether to erase it. But for now he had a working key and a moving day that didn't fall apart.

The dealer comparison came up on its own. He'd called them first. They were quoting him a wait that would have cost him the entire day and the moving crew he'd already paid for. He saved a good chunk and kept his schedule.
