2014 Jeep Cherokee
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2014 Jeep Cherokee Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Out in Dos Vientos, I got a call from a woman who ran a homeowners association. Not a big corporate property management outfit, just her, a laptop, and a Cherokee she drove between properties handling maintenance coordination. The HOA also kept two work vehicles for the maintenance crew. She needed a spare key for her own Cherokee and spares for both of the work rigs.

She had already called the dealer. The quote came back at a number that made her put the phone down and think for a minute. Three keys, three separate dealer appointments, three days of surrendering vehicles she needed running. The quarterly budget was not built for that.

I met her at the HOA office one afternoon. She stayed at her desk and handled two tenant calls while I worked. Before programming multiple keys in a single session, I backed up the body control module data first. That is just habit on a multi-key job. If anything goes sideways on the third or fourth key learn, you have a fallback and you are not starting the day over.

Her fob, the dealer part number printed on the back, five-button layout, programmed clean on the first attempt. Then the two work vehicles, one after the other. Every key tested on every function before I packed up. Lock, unlock, all of it.

She had spares for all three vehicles before dinner. The dealer comparison was an afterthought she brought up on her own, and honestly I did not disagree with her math.
