Out near Lemonwood Park in Oxnard, a foreman running an avocado operation called me about his 2020 Jeep Cherokee. Only key the ranch had, and it was acting up. I connected through the OBD port, authenticated past the SGW on the BCM, and programmed a new smart key from scratch. Cut the emergency insert blade on site so he had a backup way into the doors if the battery ever died flat.
Before I packed up, I walked the vehicle. Both front door handles responding to touch lock and unlock. Liftgate button working. Push-button start catching on the first press. He stood there watching the dash like he was waiting for that warning message to come back.
It didn't. Two working proximity keys, done at the property, for a fraction of what the dealer wanted before you even count the drive.
