Saturday morning near Bard Reservoir in Thousand Oaks. A bakery owner with a 2017 Jeep Cherokee walked back from setting up her farmers market booth and nothing worked. Dead buttons, no remote response, push-to-start gave her a "Key Fob Not Detected" message on the dash. The dealer was closed until Monday. Push-to-start still flashed the red security light on the dash and refused to crank. The transponder data inside her M3N-40821302 had corrupted, which happens sometimes when a battery dies slowly and the chip gets partial power cycles over weeks.
Since this is a pre-gateway 2017, I pulled the PIN through OBD with my programmer, built a fresh fob on a new 5026676AH shell, and registered it to her WIN module. Tested lock, unlock, hatch, panic, remote start, and a cold engine crank. Everything answered.
She finished market day and drove home. No Monday dealer appointment, no tow, no waiting around. Same rate I charge any other day of the week.
