The whole thing was done before the kids came out of rehearsal. She just stood there watching me pack up like she expected a catch. There was no catch. One visit, one parking lot, way less than the dealer wanted, and she never lost the vehicle for a single afternoon.
The kids climbed in and asked about ice cream. They had no idea anything happened.
