Got the call from Ormond Beach around sunset. Guy's 2023 Wrangler wouldn't detect the key after he'd been surfing all day. Dashboard kept flashing "Key Fob Not Detected" and the push button just clicked.

I programmed a new 68416784AC fob right there in the beach parking lot. The Wrangler's secured gateway means you need the right tools to get past the firewall. My Autel IM608 handled the gateway unlock and fob registration through the OBD port while sand blew across my tablet screen.
Twenty minutes in, his new fob was detecting at proper range, all four buttons worked, and the SIP22 blade turned smooth in the locks. He tested the panic button twice just to hear it work again.
The dealer would've towed it, kept it overnight, and charged way more. Plus he'd have missed the evening glass-off session. Some things matter more than dealer warranties when you're parked at the beach with a dead key.
