I met him at his shop lot around midday. The Fobik, part number 68416784AC with FCC ID OHT1130261, had lost its pairing. Not uncommon on these JL Wranglers when a low vehicle battery or a voltage dip from the ESS auto-stop system scrambles the handshake between the fob and the Wireless Control Module (WCM, also called the WIN module) on the dash ring.
I connected my Smart Pro to the OBD port, ran the security access seed-key exchange through the SGW (Secured Gateway Module), and reprogrammed the Fobik. The AES 128-bit security access sequence takes its time in the background. Plug-in to engine start was about 25 minutes, most of it just waiting on the timed security countdown.
He loaded a board into the Wrangler and left for a delivery right after. The dealer wanted days and a bigger bill. I was packed up before his dust settled.
