All-keys-lost on this generation means pulling the seed code and running a full reset so the system accepts a fresh chip. I connected through OBD-II, cleared the old key data, and registered the new 4C transponder.
Then I paired his HYQ12BAN remote, the 3-button unit with part number 89742-0C020. Lock, unlock, panic, all responding.
The part that sticks with me: he was sitting on the curb with his sandals off, just watching. When the engine turned over he stood up and didn't say anything for a second. Just nodded. That quiet relief is more common than the big reaction.
From lock decode to engine running, about 50 minutes. The dealer had quoted him days of wait time plus a tow. He drove home that afternoon.
