I was parked on a street near Hueneme Beach when the owner walked out holding her Highlander fob in two pieces. Not figuratively. The plastic shell had split along the seam near the top button, and she'd been holding it together with a rubber band for about two weeks.

She'd already been to the dealer. Their answer was a full replacement fob plus programming, and the number they gave her was the kind that makes you pause and reconsider your whole morning.
