2008 Toyota Highlander Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A woman near Douglas Family Preserve in Santa Barbara had been fighting her 2008 Highlander ignition for weeks. Some mornings it turned fine. Some mornings she sat in the yoga studio parking lot wiggling the key for five minutes before it would rotate.

Before I touched anything mechanical, I connected my ACDP to the 93C56 EEPROM on the immo box and backed up the security data. If something goes sideways during a wafer job, having that backup means I'm not chasing a bricked immobilizer on top of a lock repair. It takes thirty seconds and has saved me more than once.

Decoded the lock, swapped the worn wafers, cut a fresh TOY43 blade matched to the repaired cylinder. Her HYQ14AAB remote synced back up through OBD without any drama. Key slides in clean now, turns like it did when the car was new.

She didn't need a new cylinder. She needed the worn parts inside the old one replaced. That's a very different job at a very different price.
