2007 Toyota Sequoia Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
Got a call from a woman near Two Rivers Park in Fillmore. Her 2007 Sequoia had one working key left and the remote buttons had gone mushy. Lock worked sometimes. Unlock took three or four presses held at a weird angle. She had been living with it for months.
She told me she called the Toyota dealer and they quoted the job in pieces. Remote from parts, cut fee, programming labor. Then they told her to bring the truck in and leave it. She works in Fillmore and did not have a second vehicle to get home in.
I set up on her driveway. The HYQ12BBX remote on the 2007 Sequoia is part number 89742-0C030, four buttons, CR2032 battery. The transponder key runs a 4D-67 chip through Toyota's immobilizer. Two separate things to get right.
Cut the new TOY43 blade on my machine, matched the bitting to her existing key. Registered the 4D-67 chip through the OBD port using the IM608. Toyota's system on this generation requires a seed and key calculation to write the new transponder, so there is a short handshake the tool runs with the immobilizer ECU. Then paired the new remote.
Tested lock, unlock, panic, hatch release from 30 feet out. Turned the key, security light went off after one second, engine fired. She just stood there squeezing the new remote like she was checking if the buttons were real.
Done in her driveway for a fraction of what the dealer wanted.
