2019 Toyota Sequoia
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2019 Toyota Sequoia Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I got a text from a guy in Hollister Village, Goleta who was staying at a campsite off a narrow access road. He'd lost his only key somewhere between the tent and the fire pit. Not misplaced in a pocket. Gone.

His Sequoia was sitting on a dirt road with no tow access and no cell signal to speak of. He'd hiked out far enough to get one bar and send me a pin. That's all I needed.

I loaded up the van with everything for a 2019 Sequoia all-keys-lost job and drove to the pin. When I got there he looked relieved just seeing a vehicle pull up. The truck was locked, obviously, and there was no spare anywhere. We started from zero.

I worked through the door to get in, then used my diagnostic equipment to read the security data from the vehicle before touching anything else. That step matters on an all-keys-lost job. You want a clean read of what the system holds before you start making changes. Then I built the fob, paired it, and cut the emergency insert blade to match the door and ignition.

He turned the key. Truck started. He sat there for a second like he wasn't sure it was real.

The nearest dealer was over 30 miles away and there was zero chance a flatbed was reaching that access road without a serious headache for everyone involved. He saved a good chunk compared to what that tow plus dealer job would have run, and the truck never left the campsite. That's the whole point of mobile.
