2018 Toyota Sequoia Remote Head Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

A guy over near Ellwood Butterfly Grove in Goleta had just picked up a used 2018 Sequoia off Craigslist. Good truck, fair price, one key. The seller handed him a single remote head key with a worn rubber button pad and told him to get a spare on his own.

He tried a hardware store first. They turned him away. The 2018 Sequoia runs Toyota's H-chip transponder system, and the immobilizer on the 89730-0C291 computer won't let the engine turn over without that chip handshake. No programmer at the hardware counter, no start.

I met him at the truck and used my programmer to clone his existing H-chip data onto a fresh TOY43 blank. Read the transponder value from the original, wrote it to the new chip, and the immobilizer accepted it without a full reset or pin code pull. Cut the blade on my Condor, then paired the four-button remote through OBD. Whole thing, maybe 30 minutes on site.

He drove off with two working keys for a fraction of what the dealer wanted for one. And now if he ever loses one, the next replacement is a simple add-a-key instead of an all-keys-lost job, which would cost him way more.
