2007 Chevrolet Colorado Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A body shop over in Pleasant Valley Fields in Oxnard had a 2007 Colorado sitting in their lot with a "service theft deterrent" message stuck on the dash. Another locksmith had already been out, tried a key replacement, and something went wrong mid-programming. Power interruption, bad sequence, who knows. The BCM locked into a fault state and the truck would crank but not fire. That locksmith packed up and left.
The body shop called me.
When I plugged in through the OBD-II port, the BCM on this truck, a Delphi unit, was throwing a B2960 code, which is the Passlock sensor circuit security code mismatch. The previous attempt had corrupted the stored learned value. Normal relearn procedure is a 10-minute timed sequence where you leave the key in the ON position, wait for the security light to stop flashing, cycle off, repeat three times. But with the fault state this deep, the standard relearn kept failing.
I pulled the BCM and read the security data off the chip directly with my ACDP bench tool. Cleared the corrupted Passlock data, rebuilt the stored value, reinstalled, and ran the 30-minute relearn from scratch. Then I programmed his L2C0007T remote to the BCM for lock, unlock, and panic. All three buttons tested clean. Security light stayed off on start.
Took about an hour and a half. The body shop guys watched the whole thing. I walked them through what a corrupted Passlock relearn looks like so they would know the signs next time. The alternative was a flatbed ride to the dealer and a multi-day wait for a BCM reflash, for way more than what this cost.
