I got a call from a body shop off the main drag in Oxnard, over near Carriage Square. A 2019 Colorado had been sitting there for two days.

The shop had already called another locksmith, that locksmith attempted a key programming job, something went sideways mid-sequence, and he left. The truck was now showing a theft deterrent warning on the dash and would not start. The shop called me because they needed it moved.

The whole job ran about an hour and a half, longer than a standard single-key job. But it was done same day, in the body shop parking lot, for a fraction of what a flatbed tow plus dealer turnaround would have cost. The shop foreman watched the whole thing. He said the other locksmith had told them it was unrecoverable without the dealer. It was not.
