Out in La Conchita, I met a woman at her garage on a Saturday morning. She had a 2025 Chevrolet Colorado and the flip key had given up on her. The shell had split right at the hinge, which is the stress point on these fobs after a couple years of being pulled in and out of pockets. I swapped the working board into a fresh shell, seated a new blade, verified the cut was accurate against her door lock, and handed it back. She clicked it a few times like she expected something to go wrong. It didn't.
The dealer wanted to replace the whole key when half of it was working fine. She saved a good chunk by letting me look first.
