2008 Chevrolet Express Transponder Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A guy near Conejo Community Park in Thousand Oaks called me on a Wednesday. His 2008 Express cargo van was dead in a parking lot. Not battery dead. Immobilizer dead. He turned the key, the engine cranked strong, and then nothing. The Security light on the cluster just sat there blinking at him.
He'd already tried the thing he read online: leave the key in ON for ten minutes, turn off, repeat three times. That's the PK3 security relearn procedure, and it does work sometimes. But his situation was different. His only key had a cracked head, and the PK3 transponder pellet inside had shifted just enough to lose alignment with the antenna ring around the ignition cylinder.
I got there about forty minutes after his call. Pulled the old key apart on his tailgate and confirmed the chip had moved. Cut a new B106 blank with a fresh PK3 transponder, seated it right, then ran the 30-minute security relearn through the ignition cycle. Three ten-minute waits with the key at ON. Boring to watch. We talked about his route schedule while the timer counted down.
After the third cycle, he turned the key and it fired right up. Security light off, engine running clean. He mentioned the dealer had quoted him a tow plus a multi-day wait. He was back on his delivery route before lunch instead.

What doorstep service looks like in reviews
“My car keys were stolen on a cold evening and Nick drove all the way out to Santa Barbara. He got into my car, made a new key, and charged $100 less than another company. Friendly, skilled, trustworthy, and genuinely caring. Nick is a hero.”
“Tim is a hero. He programmed a master proximity key for a newer Volkswagen that multiple locksmiths refused to touch. He spent hours until late at night making sure every function worked perfectly. The skill level here is incredible.”
“Very professional and extremely affordable. The price was literally about three times cheaper than what my dealership quoted me. Fast service and no stress at all. Highly recommend.”
