2023 Chevrolet Express
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2023 Chevrolet Express Remote Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was parked near the Pacific View area of Ventura on a job when a second call came in from someone just a few blocks away. Owner of a 2023 Chevrolet Express, full-size cargo van. He had one working fob and wanted a spare before the working one gave out completely. Smart move. Most people wait until they are already locked out.

He flagged me down while I was still loading my gear from the first stop. Told me he had already called the dealer and gotten a number that made him pause. He was not angry about it, just matter-of-fact. He said he figured there had to be another way.

I had the blank in the van. Cut the replacement key blade on my machine to match his existing key, verified the cut against his door lock, then programmed the fob through the OBD port. Ran all four buttons, tested the remote from across the street, tested the physical key in the door and ignition. Everything worked clean.

The whole thing took about 25 minutes at the curb. He said the dealer had quoted him a wait time of several days just to get the appointment. I was there same day, same hour, parked right next to his van in the neighborhood where he was already standing.

He left with a working spare and the peace of mind that comes from not being one lost fob away from a real problem. The dealer comparison barely came up. He had already done that math himself.
