2005 Chevrolet Impala
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2005 Chevrolet Impala Metal Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

Out on the Via Real Corridor in Carpinteria, I got a call from a guy who had spent the better part of an afternoon at a beach access point looking for his only key. He had retraced his steps twice, checked with the people parked next to him, and finally accepted it was gone. His 2005 Impala was sitting there locked, and he had nowhere to be except home.

I told him I could be there that afternoon. No tow, no waiting on a dealer to pull a key by VIN and schedule him a week out.

When I arrived, I used a Lishi tool to pick the door open and read every wafer position in the lock cylinder. That gave me the exact cut specification for his key blade. I cut the replacement right there in the lot, tried it in the door, tried it in the ignition. First turn, the car started without complaint.

He asked me to cut a spare on the spot, which I did. Two keys, same lot, same afternoon. He drove home before the light changed on the water.

The dealer route would have meant a tow, a wait, and a bill that made him wince when I mentioned it. What he paid me was a fraction of that, and he left with a backup key he never had to begin with.
