2016 Chevrolet Impala Remote Flip Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
A couple near the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara came out of the bowling alley on a Saturday night and neither of their fobs would unlock their 2016 Chevrolet Impala. Both remotes dead. Lock button, unlock button, trunk, remote start, nothing on either one.
They were already looking up dealer hours for Monday, figuring the car would sit in that lot all weekend. Then one of them searched for a Chevy locksmith and got my number.
I was about 15 minutes out. The OHT01060512 flip key shells and CR2032 cells live in labeled drawers behind my seat, same as the B111 blanks and ID46 chips. I don't order when you call.
Popped both fobs open on the hood. Both CR2032 batteries were flat. Replaced them, resynced the remotes through my VVDI Key Tool, and tested every button on both keys: lock, unlock, trunk, panic, remote start. Engine fired on the first press of each fob. The wife said she'd been dreading the idea of leaving their car in a bowling alley parking lot overnight.
They drove home Saturday night. The dealer route would have meant leaving it there until Monday, then paying way more once they finally got an appointment. When everything is stocked, a call at 9 PM Saturday plays out the same as a call at 9 AM Tuesday.
