Windsor North over in Oxnard is mostly apartment complexes and townhomes with shared parking lots. I get calls from there a few times a month, usually people locked out of their car in a spot that looks exactly like thirty other spots.

This one was a little different. A woman who had owned her 2003 Expedition for years called me because her only key had snapped. Not lost, snapped. I cut two keys, tested both in the ignition and the door, and walked every button on the fob to confirm the remote functions were working before I packed up.

She asked if the dealer could have done the same thing. They probably could have, eventually, but she would have needed a tow since the car wasn't drivable with the blade stuck in the lock. Then she would have waited a day or two and paid a good chunk more. We were done in under an hour, in the parking lot, for way less than the dealer route would have cost her.
