Then I connected through OBD, cleared the incomplete registration from the smart key ECU, and ran the full learn procedure with the security timer. Let it count down properly this time. The HYQ14AAB wrote clean to permanent memory.
Three consecutive start tests, all good. I showed him the confirmation screen on my programmer. He just stood there staring at the key like he didn't trust it yet.
He'd already paid one locksmith for nothing. At least this time the job was actually done.
