But here's what he didn't expect. I noticed his CR2032 was reading 2.8V. Still functional, but getting weak. These DST-AES systems are picky about voltage. I swapped in a fresh 3.2V cell to avoid a callback in two weeks when it dropped below threshold.
The dealer wanted him to replace the whole fob. Their quote was north of what made sense for a stuck blade. Twenty minutes in a parking lot saved him that headache.
