Got called to Centerpoint Mall in Oxnard for a 2024 LX. The owner had one key when he bought it used, now that key was gone.
He'd already called the dealer. They wanted the car towed in, needed three days minimum, and quoted north of what most people pay for a laptop. Plus they mentioned something about ordering the key from Japan if it wasn't in stock.
I showed up with my Lishi 2-in-1 tool and picked the driver door. The LX has 10-cut wafers, so I decoded each position right there in the parking lot. Cut the emergency blade on my machine, then plugged into the OBD port under the dash.
The all-keys-lost procedure on these newer Lexus models takes about 12 minutes just for the security reset cycle. Can't rush it. The system wipes all stored keys, then you register the new HYQ14FLC smart fob. Four buttons: lock, unlock, panic, power hatch.
Once programmed, I tested every function. Door handles, push start, remote functions, even made sure the emergency blade worked in the glove box lock. The whole job took about 45 minutes start to finish.
He saved a good chunk compared to the dealer route and got his car back the same day.
