2024 Lexus LX Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
In Wilson, over near the marina parking off Oxnard's waterfront, a guy called me after spending the better part of an afternoon retracing his steps between his boat slip and the lot. His only fob for a 2024 Lexus LX was gone. He had already ruled out the boat, the dock, and every pocket twice. He figured his only move was a tow to the dealer and a multi-day wait.
I told him I could be out there that afternoon.
When I pulled up, the LX was sitting exactly where he left it. No working key, no way in yet. I used a mechanical entry method to get the door open without damage, decoded the lock, and cut a fresh emergency blade to match the vehicle. That gets you in and gives you the mechanical backup you always want on hand anyway.
From there I connected through the OBD port and ran the all-keys-lost procedure. On the 2024 LX, that process clears the old key data out of the vehicle security system and opens it up to register new fobs. The factory fob I had staged, the one carrying the factory FCC ID on it, got enrolled and verified. Then I walked every function: touch unlock on both front handles, the start button, and each of the four buttons on the fob.
He watched the whole thing from about three feet away, which I always prefer. No mystery, no guessing what got done.
Car started in the same lot he thought it was stuck in. Total time from entry to running engine was right around 50 minutes. The dealer would have needed a tow first, then a service appointment, then days. He saved a good chunk and didn't lose the car for a week.
