The part people skip over: after programming, I walked every door handle for touch-to-unlock, tested touch-to-lock on the rear handles, ran the liftgate button, and confirmed the push-button start from both the driver seat and the passenger seat with each fob. Both passed.
She drove home that night. The stolen fob is electronically dead to the car now. The dealer route would have meant a tow, days without a vehicle, and a bill that was a good chunk more than what I charged.
