Got a call from a homeowner in Peninsula Park, Oxnard. His 1999 Lexus RX 300 was parked inside a gated HOA community and the only key had stopped working. The problem was the key shell. The battery terminal had cracked away from the circuit board and the CR1616 was just floating loose inside.

I transferred his original 4C chip into a new shell, cut a fresh TOY43 blade to match his door lock, dropped in a new CR1616, and confirmed the transponder handshake with the immobilizer ECU. Then I walked the remote functions: lock, unlock, panic. All three buttons responded at full range.

His car never left the driveway. No tow, no HOA paperwork, no dealer appointment two weeks out. Just a working key, built on the hood of my van in Peninsula Park, for a fraction of what the dealer wanted.
