Saturday evening in Conejo Oaks. A couple had been at the theater and came back to the parking lot to a fob that wouldn't respond to anything. No door unlock, no response at the start button, nothing. The car just sat there ignoring them.

Then I walked every button. Lock, unlock, and both of the remaining buttons. Checked the door handle touch sensors on both front doors. Confirmed the start button was reading the fob at normal range, not just when you jam it against the console.
The car drove home Saturday night. They didn't need a new fob, didn't need to wait until Monday, and didn't need a dealer appointment. When the van is stocked and the fix is on-site, a 9pm call works the same as a Tuesday morning.
