2026 Lexus RX
Key Replacement - Save vs Dealer in Ventura County

2026 Lexus RX Smart Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional

I was out in Lynn Ranch on a Tuesday when the call came in. Guy had a 2026 Lexus RX, push-button start, and a partially working smart key.

Someone else had already been there. That someone else had charged him a serious amount of money, and the fob would unlock the doors but the start button just sat there blinking at him. He had looked me up through Google Guaranteed and the first question out of his mouth was how to verify I was actually licensed before I showed up.

I gave him my BSIS license number right on the phone. He pulled up the state website and checked it while we were still talking. That is exactly what he should have done.

When I got there he walked me through what the other guy had done. The fob had been registered but the process had not completed cleanly. The vehicle security system was not fully accepting the key. That is the kind of half-job that happens when someone is working without the right tools or rushing through the handshake sequence.

I connected my programmer through the diagnostic port and ran the full enrollment. The vehicle and the fob finished their exchange, all four buttons confirmed functional, and the start button responded normally. I walked him through every button while he watched, then had him do the same himself before I packed up.

He asked what the dealer had quoted. I told him to call and ask. He did, right there. It was a lot more than what he paid me. He said he wished he had found me before round one.
