A guy heading south on the 101 pulled off near Downtown Carpinteria and called me from a rest area. His 2012 Chevrolet Equinox key had snapped clean in the ignition. Half the B111 blade stuck in the cylinder, the other half in his hand. He was afraid to force it.

Got out there and used my B111 Lishi to extract the broken fragment without chewing up the wafers. Decoded the lock right off the cylinder, cut a fresh blade, and seated it into a new OHT01060512 shell with the Hitag2 transponder chip. Then I ran the PK3+ security relearn through the OBD port. One 10-minute timer cycle, the theft deterrent light went steady, and the new key fired the engine on the first turn.
He stood there watching the whole thing like he expected a catch. There was no catch.
The part that got him was how fast it went. From my arrival to him pulling back onto the highway was under an hour. He had already looked up what the dealer wanted and how long the wait would be. Multiple days plus a tow just to get it there. This was a rest area fix, done on the shoulder, for a fraction of that.
