A woman near Libbey Park in Ojai called me about her 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. The flip key shell had cracked clean through at the hinge, and the B106 blade was wobbling loose every time she pulled it from her pocket. She had already called the dealer. I popped the housing apart. The circuit board, part 13508771, looked clean. The PCF7941E transponder chip was seated fine. Battery contacts had no corrosion. Nothing wrong with the electronics at all.
I transferred her working board and chip into a fresh aftermarket shell, cut a new B106 blade on my mobile unit, and verified the cut against the original with my Lishi before the old blade got any worse. Tested remote lock, unlock, trunk, remote start, and the flip mechanism. All five buttons responded. Immobilizer handshake was instant on ignition.
She watched the whole thing from her driveway. Took about twenty minutes. She kept the same programmed fob, same chip, same everything that mattered. Just a new shell and blade for a fraction of what the dealer wanted for a complete replacement she never needed.
