Out in Casitas Springs, just off the 33, I got a call from a woman who had been sitting in a grocery store parking lot for forty minutes. Her 2024 Equinox would not respond to the fob at all. Cleared the fault, cycled the system, walked the doors. Touch unlock on the driver side came back. Push-button start responded. Every button on the fob confirmed.
She said the dealer had already quoted her a new fob, told her it would be a day and a half out before they could get her in, and the number they gave her was not small. She had driven past two dealerships to get groceries.
Forty-five minutes in a parking lot off the 33, and she drove home with a working key and a real answer for what had happened.
