Carpinteria State Beach is one of those spots where people park, grab their stuff, and don't think twice about the key until it's gone. That's exactly what happened with this 2018 Equinox sitting in the lot on a Saturday afternoon.

The owner had walked the beach, doubled back through the campground area, checked his towel, checked his bag. Nothing. Somewhere between the water and the car, his only key had disappeared. He had no spare. Never got one when he bought the truck used. He called me from the lot.
