2025 Chevrolet Suburban Key Replacement - Fast, Affordable & Professional
I got a call from a guy in Mountain Meadows, right here in Moorpark. He had one key to his 2025 Suburban, it was the only one he'd ever used, and he'd left it sitting in his gym bag all week. When he pulled it out that Saturday morning, nothing worked. Doors wouldn't respond, and he wasn't sure if the fob was dead or if something bigger had gone sideways.
He found me before he called the dealer, which was the right move.
I pulled up to his driveway, checked the fob first. The CR2450 had dropped enough voltage that the remote wasn't transmitting reliably, but the car's system had also dropped the key from memory - probably from a combination of the weak battery and an attempted pairing cycle that never completed. A fresh battery alone wasn't going to fix it at that point.
I connected to the OBD port, enrolled the existing fob back into the system, and verified every button was reading correctly. Then I asked him the question I always ask: do you want a spare while I'm here? He did. Smart.
Walked him through where to keep the backup - not on the same keyring, not in the same bag - and was back in my van before his wife finished her coffee.
He'd called the dealer first, actually, just to get a sense of what he was looking at. They told him parts would need to be ordered and he'd have to leave the truck. For a Saturday job on a vehicle sitting in his own driveway, that wasn't going to work. He saved a good chunk and didn't lose the weekend.
